A thread below discussed child-adult relationships, and more specifically the issue of non-permanence. Where do we the idea that any relationship should last forever? From the ending of fairy tales: "And they lived happily ever after". A fairy tale is just what this belief is. People grow, and change, and if a relationship does last "forever" you must wonder if one or both of them are vegetables, or Catholic (not allowed to divorce). No, even vegetables grow.
