I think the basics for a CL are.

1- One must care for children, be concerned for their welfare and happiness.

2- Since we are here we all know this, there must be sexual attraction. This shouldn't be solely the reason you are a CL but one of many.

Fill in the rest for your own personal tastes and beliefs. Nothing is solely right or wrong, it's an ever changing definition from person to person.
