You do a disservice to all of us true childlovers when you claim, or imply, that sex is universally the initial attraction. Without even trying I can think of a few things that take precedence,and there must be more: 1- Aesthetics- the "rightness" for lack of a better term, or, if you prefer, the superior proportions of a child, IMO. This is sometimes misinterpreted as "cuteness" but is not the same thing. Even girls who are not "cute" by the accepted standards of the word still evidence the proportionally correct physique of the child. Babies seem to be all head, with a little body hanging down almost as an appendage, whereas adults seem to be all body, with a little head perched on top like a hat. The body of a child is correctly proportioned from an aesthetic standpoint (admittedly, since the proportions change as the child ages, this varies) and at a certain junction is vastly more pleasing to the eye than either a baby or an adult. 2- Emotions- the purity of a child's emotions is an anodyne that soothes many a world-weary soul. 3- Transcendence- since they are more recently arrived from Heaven than we are (if you will permit me to wax poetic momentarily) who can deny the glimpse of the Eternal that can sometimes be seen in the aura surrounding a child? Who could be blamed for seeking a "shortcut" or direct line to the Holy through its most appealing manifestation? 4- Innocence- simply being in the presence of innocence can sometimes cleanse, or at least "rinse" the soul, recharging the batteries and helping you gird your loins for another joust at the world. There must be others but these will get you started. I agree that sexual attraction has the potential to do great harm, which is why I also believe that a true child lover is not motivated first and foremost by sex. I'll go along with you this far: in Western society, things can be problematical. Our culture has a way of ruining a girl's head. |
