I can't really agree with you on not caring what may happen in the future. I think you're downplaying the severity of what she can be led to believe. She's not being idiotic if she buys into it. I'd say even smart girls can be led astray by the heavy sex negative culture we live in. I agree. Few people are as independent in their thinking as they would like to believe. We are all affected to some degree by the opinions of those around us. For a young girl faced with a culture in which virtually every adult tells her how adult-child relationships are the most terrible thing possible, it is very difficult to disagree. That said, I have seen that younger people have been expressing their doubts lately, and that sort of peer support could soon begin to change public opinion. I believe that this next decade could be a very rough decade, on a par with the 1960s, as the children of the Baby Boomers come of age - but this time it won't just be in the Western nations, it's going to be world-wide.
