So I was browsing newgon tonight and reading about Floyd M. Martinson, a pioneer in child sexuality research and held liberal views on intergenerational intimacy. There is a link to an article on centerforyouth.org that quotes other people with similar backgrounds and opinions like Mary S. Calderone head of the influential Sex Information and Education Council of the United States, John Money of Johns Hopkins University, Anthropologist Richard Currier, A family therapist from Acton Massachusetts Larry Constantine, Norwegian psychologist Thore Langfeldt, Wardell Pomeroy who co-authored the Kinsey reports, and Frits Bernard a Dutch psychologist All of these people have very positive views on intergenerational intimacy. And what does centerforyouth .org talk about to supposedly refute what these experts are saying? A study based on two years of interviews with 62 children (49 boys, 17 girls) averaging 11 years of age and involved in eleven sex rings in the Northeast and Middle West from 1978 to 1981 and points out that two years after the rings were discovered, the study found, about one in four of the children had made what appeared to be a healthy psychological adjustment. Apparently the fourteen adult leaders of these groups used the children sexually and sold pictures for profit. Now I haven’t quoted what Martinson and the others have said, but I’ve linked to the article and if you read it yourselves you will find that not one of them said or implied that “involvement in a sex ring and being forced to do child porn can be beneficial for children.” These people are taking it totally out of context, it seems obvious to me, but apparently not everyone. Being forced into a sex ring like that against anyones will of any age will be detrimental. Martinson and the others are explaining how intergenerational relationships can be beneficial for children. Was what these fourteen adults doing with these kids a relationship? Of course not. And of course the people who are speaking against these experts like, are calling it an assault on childhood innocence! and have written books like “The Death of Innocence! By the way, the article also mentions an organization called “the Childhood Sensuality Circle” lead by someone named Valida Davila?? I’ve never heard of them. Is anyone here familiar with it??
